Alumni Trustee elections run Monday, April 21st - Thursday, May 8th
I am running for re-election to the Penn State Board of Trustees and would be honored to have your vote. Penn State alumni will receive an email beginning April 21st, and must vote by Thursday, May 8th. If you do not receive an email ballot by April 22nd, contact PennStateVotes.com.
Key Issues
To me, Penn State’s core missions are to provide a quality and affordable education to citizens of the Commonwealth; engage in meaningful and beneficial research; and engage in outreach to leverage Penn State’s resources to the benefit of the communities we serve.

- Penn State needs responsible stewardship… provided by those who are committed to serving the University as fiduciaries, not those committed to serving themselves.
- Penn State needs smart stewards… who have invested the time and the effort necessary to understand the issues facing the University.
- Penn State needs talented stewards… who have the skills and abilities to develop proposals that address key University challenges.
- Penn State needs outspoken stewards… who have the commitment and the tenacity to challenge an ingrained and dysfunctional status-quo.

Update: thanks to the generous support of donors who love Penn State, we have reached our goal! I can’t express how humbled and honored I am to be working with such a great group of supporters. Our fight is moving forward quickly, and I am very proud of the case we have put forward. Let’s keep going!
On Tuesday, July 16, 2024 I filed suit in Centre County, Pennsylvania Court of Common Pleas for declaratory and injunctive relief against the Penn State Board of Trustees, and Matthew Schuyler in his capacity as Board Chair. Read about it here.
I filed this suit pro se, which means representing myself. I was contacted by a Penn State alum, Dave Lapioli, who has started a GoFundMe campaign to help me hire a lawyer. Dave is a stand up guy and I very much appreciate his effort.
Before I filed the suit I spoke with several lawyers who were quoting retainers in the ballpark of $10,000 so that is the goal. If I am able to retain counsel my complaint will be amended to request recovery of legal fees, but that is at the judge’s discretion.
I am happy to talk with anyone interested in donating. Contact me at barry@barryfenchak.com or call me at (814) 470-0524. I am very grateful for your support.
